Smoothie and Smoothie Bowls

Good Morning Sunshine!!!

Break the breakfast routine by preparing a sexy sexy smoothie bowl for every member of the family this weekend!

Here's the simple recipe:

500g fresh pink dragon fruit chunks
200g frozen banana chunks
water
honey
fruit slices in season for toppings
cereals
raisins
mint sprigs for garnish

Throw in the chunks of banana and dragon fruit into the food processor/blender. Add in the honey and water depending on your preferred sweetness and thickness of the smoothie. Turn on blender and stop until all fruits are smoothly blended. Pour smoothie into individual bowls and garnish. Our kids loved the raisins and cereals as toppings for a contrast in texture. Top with sliced fruits in season and garnish with mint sprigs for Instagram-worthy smoothies!

IMPORTANT: Try your best to buy the LOCAL dragon fruit! And try to buy them from markets not groceries as they are fresher. Most sellers know where the dragon fruits are coming from. Let's support the Filipino Farmers and let's support the Philippine Dragon Fruit Industry. Be a Proud Pinoy! And by the way, freshly picked dragon fruits from Fortune Dragon Farm were used for this recipe!

Happy Smoot(c)hie Making!!!

Salsa

So..okay, it's in season and you find it everywhere these days..
But what else can you do with Dragon Fruit apart from eating it fresh? What do you do with it after picking it yourself?
Don't worry, we've got you covered!

In celebration of Baby Dragon's birthday yesterday, Tita Dragon made Dragon Fruit SALSA. Yes, SALSA! It's one of the sexiest things I love to prepare for family and friends. We paired it with Baked Chicken and our wines! Nomnom!

So here's the recipe:

300g dragon fruit in small cubes
250g sweet corn
250g cucumber in small cubes
2500ml olive oil
50ml fresh lime juice
salt to taste
white pepper
chopped cilantro/wansuy/coriander leaves

Make the dressing by mixing the olive oil, lime juice, and cilantro then add in the salt and pepper and stir well. Refrigerate all ingredients separately and just mix everything just before the meal to prevent sogginess and color contamination for better presentation.

This salsa will go well with BARBEQUED meats and a really healthy topping for NACHOS too!

More recipes coming!!! Enjoy!
